Feel Vibrant Again!
Hormone levels decline as we age; Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (HRT) replenishes the hormones that your body needs to function, for women AND men.
Using an interventional endocrinological approach, we treat patients with menopause-related or other conditions which may affect normal female hormone balance. We also manage male hormonal concerns: low testosterone “low T,” erectile dysfunction etc. Philosophically we maintain an anti-aging perspective keeping hormone levels at or near youthful normal young adult levels.
One of our most gratifying services is couples therapy where husband and wife are evaluated and treated for hormone related conditions. Medically prescribed hormone-based, image enhancement services for men and women of all persuasions are available.
Whenever practical, WISE Medical Center uses “natural” or bio-chemically identical hormones versus bio-similar or synthetic hormones. Bioidentical hormones are molecule-by-molecule, exactly the same as the natural hormones (estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisol, DHEA, estradiol and estriol) present in the human body.
Our physicians will assess your individual needs and work to restore these hormones and customize a medical plan specifically for you. Medications are available in topical creams, intramuscular injections, pellets, and/or pills.
Who Needs Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
Women often find that restoring bioidentical hormone levels increases the body’s sex drive and an overall feeling of well-being. Women experiencing early menopause symptoms looking to put an end to hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, mood swings, weight gain, and low libido are turning to WISE Medical Centers to replace natural hormones. Hormonal imbalance can occur before menopause.
Even before menopause, the use of bioidentical hormone therapy is useful. Additionally, testosterone is reported to improve cholesterol levels, both HDL (good) and LDL (bad), strengthen cardiovascular health, and improve hair and skin function and growth. Patient-based evidence has reported testosterone to be a vital link in the restoration of women’s health. Using certified bioidentical hormones from compounding pharmacies, our physicians design individualized programs specifically for each woman suffering from early menopause symptoms, menopause, perimenopause, and severe PMS.
When appropriate and desired, compounded implantable sterile pellets or custom prepared and personalized topical creams are composed of the Biodentical sex hormones Estradiol and Testosterone. They are prepared as separate dosage units, for customized dosage adjustments.
Estradiol is frequently called the “sensual hormone” because it is known to bring a glow to the skin, fuller breasts, clarity of mind, vaginal lubrication, positive mood stabilization, and improved brain and bone health. In women, estrogen provides benefits throughout the body, making it important to restore these levels, especially after surgical menopause and early menopause.
Benefits of Optimized Testosterone Levels in Men and Women
The program at WISE Medical Center promotes restoration of normal youthful testosterone levels. We are not promoting the unnatural use of high levels of testosterone for men or women.
Testosterone is naturally produced by both men and women and naturally decline in your 30’s. Normal testosterone levels are important for the following:
- Increased sexual desire and sexual performance
- Stronger orgasms
- Reduction of night sweats and hot flashes
- Improved focus and memory
- Better moods, and mood stability
- Better sense of well being
- Less stress and irritation
- Increased vaginal lubrication
- Weight loss, combined with diet and exercise
- Increased strength and endurance, better energy levels
- Younger skin, and slower aging
- Migraine and headache relief
- Decreased muscle aches and joint pain
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men
Men typically find that restoring testosterone levels to the doses the body naturally produces achieves many of the same sexual and health benefits as the ones experienced by women. Men with symptoms like fatigue, low energy, weakness, or loss of virility are treated successfully and naturally with Bioidentical Hormones. Noted improvements include increased sex drive, the ability to achieve and sustain erections, overall improvement in cardiovascular health, including lowering cholesterol while increasing HDL the good cholesterol, increased energy levels, and the reduction of age-related mental acuity.
Men experiencing the “male menopause” who want to get a grip on weight gain, lost libido, fatigue, stress, energy, muscle mass, and body fat are also finding solutions through BHRT. For men, Andropause (the male menopause) happens gradually and, when diagnosed, the symptoms are successfully treated using bioidentical hormones. Even young men occasionally are found with testosterone deficiencies.
Testosterone Pellet Therapy
What is “testosterone pellet therapy”? Testosterone Pellets are small, cylindrical pellets that measure 0.4mm in diameter. We use bioidentical testosterone pellets produced in the US by approved, quality assurance, compounding pharmacies. The testosterone pellets are derived from plant sources. Testosterone Pellet Therapy is not a new concept, or procedure, and is widely recognized as effective.
What is the advantage of testosterone pellets over compounding creams? Testosterone pellets are the most effective method of getting the body to utilize testosterone, and at a steady rate. During increased physical activity, the blood flow will increase the rate of testosterone release, to match your needs. Under the skin, the testosterone pellets will last for 3 to 6 months without a need for additional supplementation.
How and Where are Testosterone Pellets inserted? The insertion procedure for Testosterone pellets is performed at WISE Medical Center, using the upper buttock area, just behind the hip. With a patient laying on their side, a local anesthetic is used to make the procedure “pain-free”. After the area is numb, we use sterile procedures to make a small incision in the skin. A small sterile instrument called a “trochar” allows for insertion of the pellets, and the small incision is covered with a dressing. For several days after the pellets are placed, we ask you to moderate your activities. All of this information is covered in detail with your consultation.
